This project archives the furry fandom, run from on-premise resources. The archive is not public and is intended for cold storage. Usernames may be used to contact creators later, only to ask for consent. Any use beyond cold storage requires that consent.

What it does

• It archives FurAffinity, using a logged-in account.
• Page requests are spaced about 4 seconds apart and never less than 2. File downloads are spaced about 1.5 seconds apart.
• It sends no requests during US busy hours, and it pauses when FurAffinity has 14,500 or more registered users online.
• It stops on any Cloudflare challenge and does not try to solve it.

Verifying it

Requests are signed with HTTP Message Signatures (Web Bot Auth). The public key is in the key directory.

Asking it to stop

FurAffinity staff: email lenathedoe@proton.me and the crawler will be stopped as fast as possible.

Artists: email the same address to have your account excluded from future crawling and your existing archived material removed.
